ABOUT
Àlvar Mestres is a Barcelona-based ceramic sculptor creating one-of-a-kind sculptures and sculptural vessels through a slow, hand-built slab technique.
His minimalist approach brings organic forms into dialogue with tactile surfaces and expressive gestures. Working without molds or a potter’s wheel, he shapes each piece intuitively, allowing imperfections and traces of the making process to become part of its character.
Inspired by Mediterranean landscapes and organic architecture, his work explores the balance between volume and space, restraint and expression. Moving between sculpture and function, these collectible works invite a closer encounter with clay, light and form.
