What happens after I place an order?

After your purchase, you will receive a personal email confirming your order and providing an estimated delivery time.

If the artwork is available in stock, it is usually dispatched within 1–3 business days.

If the piece is made to order or currently in production, the creation process may take approximately 3–4 weeks. As every artwork is individually handmade, production times may vary slightly.

I always strive to complete and dispatch each piece as soon as possible.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes.

I ship worldwide from Barcelona, Spain.

International customers are welcome to place orders from any country.

Are there import duties for orders shipped to the United States or the United Kingdom?

My artworks are shipped as original works of art under the appropriate customs classification for artwork.

United States

Original artworks imported into the United States generally qualify for 0% import duty, meaning no customs tariff is charged on the artwork itself.

United Kingdom

Original artworks imported into the United Kingdom generally qualify for 0% customs duty when correctly classified as artwork.

Please note that local VAT, customs processing fees or brokerage charges may still apply depending on current regulations and the carrier used.

Customs regulations may change over time and remain the responsibility of the importing country.

Is every piece unique?

Yes.

Every artwork is individually handmade in my Barcelona studio.

Variations in dimensions, texture, colour, surface marks and finishing details are part of the artistic process and contribute to the uniqueness of each piece.

These characteristics are not considered defects but an integral part of handmade ceramic art.

Each artwork is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

What materials do you use?

My work is created using high-fired stoneware clay and carefully selected finishes.

Each piece is built entirely by hand without moulds or the potter’s wheel, making every artwork unique.

How should I care for my ceramic artwork?

My ceramics are fired at high temperatures and are designed to be durable and long-lasting.

To clean your piece, simply use a soft damp cloth.

Avoid abrasive products, harsh chemicals or rough cleaning materials that may affect the surface finish.

Where are the artworks made?

All artworks are designed and handmade by Àlvar Mestres in Barcelona, Spain.

Each piece is created slowly and individually, embracing texture, materiality and the subtle imperfections that make handmade objects unique.
